Take a look at a mail i received a couple weeks ago from the Discipline Master. Read through every 'guidelines'. Man, it is a real stupid one.
Lets analyse at some of the few 'standout' 'rules' stated:
1. Shorts and singlets.
Yes they are informal and all, but does it make the school feel sloppy? It is comfortable wear for some, whats wrong? Wearing shorts and singlets means low-classed ? So the school is trying to stereotype people. ah they never say people, but they see them as one.
2. Mini skirts/Mini shorts.
What the hell! if this is going to be legalised in RP, i guess it will be a all-girls school. haha. Okay actually this point is a little kinky, but looking at it honestly, it is one freedom to wear what they want isn it ? As long as they don provide threat to anybody or threat to racial riot. What the hell is wrong ?
3. Long Hair [ Guys ]
This makes me wonder if a guy is working in the society, and comes to RP to enrol into another diploma to enrich himself, would he specially go cut his hair ?
And... though i am not a 'long hair guy', whats wrong ? Guys having long hair means they are not successful in life ? or what? i really cannot think of any reasons for that. And for every reason they can give, i can return them one example of all the long hair popular guys who are doing so well, with the hair as their part of life.
4. Caps.
Why ? Does it mean that every person who wear a cap is a suspect of terro.... ? or a robber ? No, as the yellow ribbon campaign suggest people not to judge a book by its cover, is our school trying to be pro-stereotyping people who wear caps?
All in all, it is a ridiculous mail, trying to make it look serious when we dont even know how EXACTLY are the above Don'ts will harm us, or shld i say harm the school. All done in the school's best interest i guess.
