The meeting with high flyers.

Wednesday, October 01, 2008, it's 11:01 PM.

This happen yesterday.

Alright because on monday, the Company called True Heritage Brew, the company which produces the world famous National Cocktail of Singapore, came to our school to give a talk.

Basically, the drink they are famous for brewing is called The Singapore Sling. If you often go to pubs or is one who often enjoys cocktails, you would probably know of this drink. It is the icon for Singapore, the drink every tourist has praised for thus becoming our own very National cocktail. May i bring you... created since the 1900s and perfected today..

THE SINGAPORE SLING ORIGINALS.

Alright, back to the topic. So there was also a challenge from the Group to our school. This challenge is that because they are producing this drink in Bottled form, for convenient sake and the quality wise, they want Republic Polytechnic to be part of history. Being in the Marketing IG ( IG = Interest Groups, aka known as CCA in secondary schools ), we are the co-ordinators cum organisers. Our aim is to hold a roadshow in the school, letting them know the product that we are helping to launch.

For participants, they can come out with posters, designs, ads, whatever their mind can think of to market this product. If chosen, they stand to win PS3, PSP, and iPod Nanos.

Going straight into the point, Roy the VP of the IG, Allan the Events In-charge of IG and me, an ordinary member of IG, decided to taste the drink for ourself. Being efficient, Roy made an private appointment to have a taste of the cocktail in Clarke Quay.

Thus, yesterday the three of us met up with Christine, the Head of Marketing of True Heritage Brew at its very own boutique in Clarke quay, block B.

Little do we know that we were so honoured to have the Boss, Designer of The True Heritage Brew with us. POW! Seriously as if were are having a business meeting. Seated outside, we formally introduce ourselves. I like the way we are treated like VIPs from the waiters, the envious look. I cant help but imagine what the waiters are thinking, " Wah such 19-20s teens, how can they be related to the Big Boss ".

Lol. At the wave of hands by the boss, we are served four cups of cocktail, the first picture i posted above. After some time, another handwave bought us another four bottled cocktails. The Boss told us a long story, but to cut short, record has the the a person who can drink the most cups of Singapore Sling only managed 7, and that to mix this cocktail, a very professional bartender could only do it because it is really hard to get that right flavour.

Thus, if you want to try the original POTENT Singapore sling, come down to the boutique at Clarke Quay, Block B. I do not know how much it cost, because its all ON THE HOUSE! haha. The trick is that the kick comes in after you drink them. Hmm, interesting.

I will post the history of how this drink was created in the next post, so if you are interested, stay tuned!

It was probably the once in a lifetime experience to sit down with high flyers at the young age, communicating and discussing the thoughts and ideas to launch the product to the public. So, with that, i end this LONG post.

Sling it Baby!!!
